Meghan W. Sheahan has been making jewelry in one form or another since 2006. From upcycling and repurposing materials to metalsmithing and stone setting, her passion for the craft has evolved through formal education and personal exploration. Meghan uses traditional metalsmithing techniques like hand forging, metal printing with a rolling mill, hand sawing, torch soldering and hand polishing. These skills combined with her careful selection of organic materials, including collectors grade stones, minerals, precious and semi-precious gemstones, show a dedication to the foundations of the craft. Antithetical to fast fashion, Meghan strives to put the utmost care into making heirloom quality pieces in sterling silver and solid karat gold. She has developed relationships directly with lapidaries (stone cutters) and uses recycled metals and ethically mined materials whenever possible. Her goal is to create bold jewelry that balances the wild beauty displayed in each stone’s pattern with a modern, understated aesthetic. Meghan seeks to simply frame each stone, because the raw, natural elements incapsulated by the earth, truly speak for themselves.

Meghan has an undergraduate degree in journalism from Marquette University and a masters degree in social work from University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is passionate about social justice and mental health issues. She now works full time making jewelry. Meghan lives with her husband and two daughters near Milwaukee, Wis.
